Planning for the FALL… and BEYOND
Whew! What a WILD & CRAZY time this has been for me! SOooooo many changes!
Launching a full-blown ministry from the ground up, speaking at multiple events and locations, writing and publishing a book, breaking my toe… twice (ouch!), moving to a new church after a wonderful twenty-year ministry, starting again with the beginning processes of revitalizing a church with my husband, organizing/planning/learning all kinds of new things… My plate has been full! It’s been a smorgasbord of variety… like going to a big buffet. You see all kinds of wonderful things, and so you end up with a little bit of everything! Sometimes a lot of everything! But, the “everything”… is SO GOOD!
My heart is full and my praise is real! I love nothing more than to be used by God. Isn’t it funny that just when you think life will be slowing down, God says, “I don’t think so! There is work to be done. There is too much to do. There are people to reach. Souls to save. Believers to disciple.” Like my husband always says, “I’d rather wear out than rust out.” Can I just say that there is absolutely no rust happening around here!
So, if you see me on the side of the road, broke down and worn out… It’s okay. There will be a smile on my face and a joy in my soul for being given the opportunity for God to run me to empty! Like a Tesla without a battery.
So, when God says, “Let’s go! Grab a Sonic Dr. Pepper for the road. You’re gonna need it!” I say, “Yes, Lord.” I put my tennis shoes on. Throw my hair into a ponytail. Grab my Bible and a notebook. I screech into Sonic on two wheels for that DP. And I say, “Here we go!”
Here are just a few things that I am DEEP into right now:
- Studying and writing lessons for “Know the Bible Ministries” Women’s Bible class. The class this Fall will be “Know the Prophets, Know God,” on Tuesday nights. (I am super excited about getting my class cranked up again. I really missed not teaching this semester, but honestly, I don’t think I could have squeezed it in with all the changes and new adventures going on. So, I am so ready to start back again! And this series on the Prophets… it will be a doozy!)
- Working with lots of other people (some very amazing and talented people, I might add) in the planning, organizing, and launching of SO MANY new and exciting things at our new church (I can’t wait to share some exciting news soon!)
- Laying out some REALLY BIG plans, talking with other ministry leaders, and thinking through all the details of launching a NWA Women’s Conference in 2027 that will lead women into greater spiritual growth and deeper Biblical knowledge. This has been my vision for a few years now, so I’m excited to see it come together! More on that later!
- Keeping my eyes and heart open to where God is taking me. Following His leading as His beloved and Redeemed daughter who is trying not to mess things up, a surrendered disciple who still has SO much to learn, a ministry leader who is looking for His constant guidance, and a forever “directionally challenged” Pastor’s wife who is still trying to figure out which way is East and which way is West. (Y’all. How in the world do I ever get anywhere?)
Oh well… I’m LOVING, LAUGHING, and ENJOYING the Journey!
